South-facing, the apartment has its own private entrance and
huge windows with lovely views of the olive groves and hills. It consists
of an open plan kitchen/living room, with a separate double bedroom
and an en suite bathroom, with a marble finish and enclosed shower.
The bedroom has a painted antique wardrobe, painted Indian cabinet,
mahogany-stained wooden side chests and a comfortable double bed.
It also has a couple of folding chairs
The kitchen/living room has a leather sofa bed (with memory foam mattress),
two vintage leather club armchairs and an antique refectory table
with six rush-seated ladder-back chairs. There's a 15-inch LCD TV
(though the reception in Tuscany is terrible), a DVD player, mini
Hi Fi with built-in MP3 player and a small library of books, CDs and
DVDs. The kitchen area, which has a fan oven, gas hob and built-in
fridge, has been hand-made by local craftsmen to complement the traditional
materials of the interior.
The apartment sleeps two and, in case of instant friendships with
neighbours, can seat six for drinks or dinner. More than two for a
longer stay would be extremely cosy.
It isn’t suitable for pets, smokers, anyone with a serious mobility
problem (it’s up a flight of stairs) or small children whose
chief recreational activity is destroying antiques. |
